Thank you for considering bringing a group to the University of Montana! The Office of Admissions and our enthusiastic Grizzly Ambassadors are excited to host you. Please read the following information and complete the form below to start the process of scheduling your visit.
WHO:
We offer in-person group tours for up to 50 students from high schools, community colleges, and other educational partners. Looking for something else, or bringing a middle school or elementary school group? Check out our other K-12 Visit Options.
WHAT:
A) Mountain Campus: Your visit begins with a brief presentation with an admissions counselor, followed by a 90-minute guided tour led by one of our Griz Ambassadors. Please allow a minimum of two hours for your visit. You may request additional meetings with campus departments during registration; meetings are subject to the availability of our faculty and staff.
B) Missoula College River Campus: Your visit will consist of a 5-minute presentation, and 20-minute tour led by a Griz Ambassador. You may request additional meetings with campus departments during registration; meetings are subject to the availability of our faculty and staff.
C) Missoula College West Campus: Availability varies. Please select West Campus on your registration, and we will reach out to coordinate. Visits to West Campus are not available on Fridays.
WHEN:
Group visits to Main Campus and Missoula College are available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 10:00 a.m. (MT) and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1:30 p.m. If one of these days/times does not suit your group, please indicate your preferred time on the registration form, though we cannot guarantee availability. Missoula College West Campus availability varies and is dependent on the availability of our faculty/staff. Groups visits are limited to one per day, so if your preferred day is already full, we will need to ask you to choose a different day. Please reach out to us early in your planning for the best chance of us having availability on your preferred day!
WHERE:
The Office of Admissions is located in the Gilkey Executive Education Building at 950 Arthur Avenue, Missoula. For smaller vehicles, like cars and passenger vans, designated parking is available in front of the Gilkey building in one of the spots labeled "Future Griz." If your group is arriving by bus, please notify us in advance for specific bus parking instructions.
HOW:
Please complete the request form below to begin the process of scheduling your group visit and a member of our team will be in touch to coordinate with you. Please allow a minimum of 14 days; requests received within 14 days of your visit are not guaranteed.
POLICIES:
To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone, please take note of the following policies:
- Chaperones: We require at least one chaperone per every 10 students under the age of 18.
- Registration: Please request your group visit a minimum of 14 days in advance. Visit requests with less than 14 days' notice are not guaranteed.
- Punctuality: If your group is running late by more than 10 minutes, please notify the Office of Admissions at (406) 243-6266.
- Campus Conduct: All visitors are expected to be respectful and attentive during their visit. This includes using respectful language, limiting cell phone use, and maintaining the cleanliness of campus facilities.
- Policy Compliance: Should any of our visit policies be disregarded, our staff reserve the right to conclude the tour immediately and request your group leave campus. A record of the incident will be retained for future reference.
OTHER:- On-Campus Dining: If you'd like to arrange for your group to dine at The Lodge, our on-campus dining center, please reach out to Angie Kress at least 14 days in advance at Angila.Kress@mso.umt.edu or (406) 243-4899 to request group dining. Advanced reservation lunch for groups of 10+ is $13.50/person and credit cards are accepted upon arrival. Please note: The Office of Admissions does not arrange lunch for visiting groups.
